Israel Curriculum: Navigating Shared Space

Our Unique Approach

Guided by inquiry, critical thinking and discernment

Question mark

Learners are encouraged to dig deep and ask hard questions about what it means to have a relationship with Israel today.  They are asked to evaluate and form opinions about the sources they encounter and what it means to share space and co-exist with many different peoples.

Learner-centered to ensure relevancy and connection

Learner-centred

Learners draw connections to their own lived experiences, consider multiple perspectives (including their own) and express why they believe certain decisions or events may have happened.  They are invited to explore how Israel’s history has had an impact on the Modern State of Israel today.

Based on multiple narratives for authentic engagement

Multiple narratives

To maintain an authentic presentation of Israel throughout the learning content, multiple narratives of different types of Jews, Arabs, Christians, Druze, Bedouins and more are included.  Learners engage with these narratives and consider how they interact in a shared space.

Flexible to adapt to multiple ages and settings

Tools

The curriculum is designed for ages 9 to adult. It includes options for the educator to adapt the materials for different audiences and settings. Educator Training is included in the learning program to facilitate the process of adaptation and implementation.
